The Old Man and the Cherry Blossoms
the old man and the cherry blossoms
“So you’ve found the place, have you? Aha, I’ll soon be rich!”
Delighted with this thought, the greedy man began to dig. But instead of gold coins, snakes and toads began to slither and crawl out from under his spade.
“What the…?”
Red with anger, the man leapt at Pochi and began to hit him as hard as he could. Soon, Pochi’s lifeless body lay at his feet.
Feeling dreadfully sorry for poor Pochi, the old man dug a grave in the garden and stood a small branch over it.
And then something very strange happened.
All at once, the branch grew into a large tree, and a voice could be heard from nowhere.
