One day, Issun Boshi accompanied her to the local shrine.
On the way, however, they met up with a gigantic, mean ogre.
The ogre had decided that she was worth kidnapping.
Fearing for the safety of the girl, Issun Boshi drew the sword that his father had made and attacked the ogre.
“Don’t make me laugh,” growled the ogre. “You’re nothing but a small snack to me.” And saying that, the ogre gobbled down Issun Boshi.
On his way down the ogre’s throat, Issun Boshi stabbed him repeatedly with his sword until he arrived in the stomach, where he kept up the attack.
“Ouch!” cried the ogre. “That hurts! You’re killing me! I give up! Somebody help me!”
The ogre hastily spat out Issun Boshi, and throwing aside his magic hammer, he ran off towards the mountains.
